Still in happiness
it is easier to sleep-
to find the fairy dress
in the toy box and
imagine
tomorrow
than it is to live
tomorrow.
You'll want moments
of consummate beauty
stretched out on the bed
with the moonlight always glinting
just so.
You'll want
the sharp intake of breath
that accompanies the
very second
that you think
you just might possibly
have
that flawless
perfect
love.
Instead,
You will eventually learn
that bliss is in moments
of still singing scarless songs
with the other
and running in darkened hallways
of serious places.
If
you find many moments
instead of the few
you thought you'd learned were yours
of that song
balanced out against the ledger
of must
and neccessary
You'll realize
how much harder it is
to keep the fairy dresses
and live in today
than it is
to dream of tomorrow.
And
how much more important.
